From "fatty liver" to "liver cancer" a few steps? It's time for your liver to lose weight!

Is fatty liver just a minor disease that does not need treatment?

Where do you think you need to lose weight most?

It is estimated that many people will answer the waist, stomach, and legs, but there is a need to "lippoy", "lose weight" where neglected, that is, the liver.

In 2015, the “Guide to the Prevention and Treatment of Fatty Liver Disease in China” published in China shows that the prevalence of fatty liver in Chinese adults has reached 12.5%-35.4%.

Fatty liver has replaced viral hepatitis and has become the country’s largest liver disease among residents.

If you think that fatty liver is only a minor disease that doesn't need to be cured, then it's a big mistake.

You "underestimated" fatty liver

For many people, fatty liver is just an abstract word on the physical examination report. There is usually no obvious symptoms and no serious consequences. Similar misunderstandings may be hurting your health.

Misunderstanding 1: Fatty liver is a minor disease, not to cure

Truth: No attention may develop into liver cancer

Gao Shurong, chief physician of the Department of Liver Diseases of Beijing You'an Hospital, Capital Medical University, gave a roadmap for the development of fatty liver to liver cancer:

Simple fatty liver (initial stage of fatty liver) → Steatohepatitis → Liver fibrosis → Cirrhosis → Liver cancer

In the "hepatitis B - liver cirrhosis - liver cancer" trilogy was gradually understood by everyone, the above development process was ignored by many people. If you do not find and take measures in time, fatty liver may also develop rapidly and even develop liver cancer.

Misconception 2: Fatty liver is "mild" and represents liver damage

The truth: Mild fatty liver can also have severe liver damage.

It is generally believed that examinations such as B-mode ultrasound show that the liver has more than 5% fat as mild fatty liver, more than 10% as moderate fatty liver, and more than 25% as severe fatty liver.

However, "light, medium, and heavy" here merely show the amount of lipids in the liver, and it does not explain the degree of liver damage. Although some people only have mild fatty liver, liver damage is already very serious.

People who regularly drink alcohol, obesity, and hepatitis B, if they find fatty liver, even if it is mild, it is recommended to further check liver fibrosis, inflammation and other related indicators, and regularly monitor the liver.

Misconception 3: Only fat people will get fatty liver

Truth: Thin people may also get fatty liver.

Obese people have a higher risk of fatty liver, but do not forget that obesity is only one of the risk factors for fatty liver.

If there is insulin resistance, genetic and metabolic problems, excessive visceral fat deposition and other factors, thin people may also develop fatty liver.

People who are particularly thin or who lose weight fast in a short period of time are affected by the fat metabolism of the liver and are also prone to develop fatty liver.

Satisfying physical needs may also cause malnutrition fatty liver.

Misconception 4: Fatty Liver, just got a liver disease

Truth: It may be accompanied by many chronic diseases.

Fatty liver is not an independent disease, and it often suggests abnormalities in other metabolisms in the body. It is recommended to check indexes such as blood lipids, blood sugar, uric acid, and blood pressure to rule out related diseases.

About 40% of patients with fatty liver have high blood pressure, 10% have diabetes, 40% high uric acid, 60% of people are overweight, these diseases are like "brothers", medically referred to as "metabolic syndrome."

The symptoms of most patients with mild fatty liver are not obvious, and some people experience symptoms such as loss of appetite, fatigue, and abdominal distention. When liver pain and nausea and vomiting occur, the liver damage has reached a very serious level. Therefore, early prevention and early treatment are the key factors.

In addition to the above-mentioned obese people, rapid weight loss and malnutrition, some neglected people are also prone to develop fatty liver disease. If you are one of the following types of people, you must pay attention to prevention.

Neglected high-risk groups

Famine meal full meal. Many people seldom eat on time, even eating a few meals, because they have irregular schedules and work.

This long-term hunger and full meal, eating too easy to overeating, leading to the liver's ability to increase fat reserves, the formation of fatty liver. Regular eating three meals, there is one more reason.

Love drinking. Alcoholic fatty liver is mainly caused by the decline of liver synthesis.

Studies have shown that 75% to 95% of long-term alcoholics have fat infiltration. People who drink 80 grams to 160 grams each day have a 5 to 25 times higher incidence of alcoholic fatty liver than non-drinkers.

In order to liver health, it is recommended to drink alcohol in moderation. Men are advised to consume no more than 20-30 grams of alcohol per day, and no more than 10-15 grams of women.

Indiscriminate medication. Tetracycline, adrenal corticosteroids, cyclohexylamine and other drugs will injure the liver if used for a long time and increase the risk of fatty liver. It is recommended that people who take these drugs for a long period of time should be reviewed regularly, and if necessary, they should adjust the treatment plan according to the doctor's advice.

In addition, diabetics, elderly people, and people with hepatitis should also pay attention to prevent fatty liver.

Can be prevented and sometimes "reversed"

Eat soy, repair liver cells

B vitamins can accelerate the metabolism of substances, promote their conversion to energy, help repair liver cells and prevent fatty liver. If you are a high-risk group of fatty liver who usually love to drink, it is recommended to pay attention to supplement, you can eat soy, mushrooms and other foods.

If you have found fatty liver, it is recommended to eat more foods that help reduce blood fat and promote metabolism of liver fat, such as oats, corn, kelp, lean meat, fish, egg white, etc.; eat less or do not eat high-sugar, high-oil foods; Drinking 2000 ml of water a day, a 50-60 year old patient can drink four bottles of mineral water, and slightly less than 60 years old.

If you have kidney disease or heart disease, it is advisable to consult a doctor about the amount of water you drink.

Exercise, "reversing" some fatty liver

The study found that through exercise and other means, an obese person loses 3% to 5% of his body weight, his fatty liver will be significantly reduced; weight loss of more than 10%, the liver's inflammation will be reduced.

In patients with simple fatty liver, after half a year of diet and exercise interventions, they will basically “cure.”

Therefore, this part of the population should pay attention to more exercise. In patients with fatty liver disease, it is best to walk 10,000 steps per day; obese fatty liver patients, if there are no other contraindications, need to reach 250 minutes of exercise every week.

Physical examination, early detection of clues

Normally, physical examination should be emphasized, including body weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, liver function, and liver B ultrasound. As soon as possible, obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and related diseases should be detected and discovered, and timely measures should be taken.

Every year over 40 years of age physical examination, men should pay more attention to check the liver. From the perspective of epidemiology, men are more likely to have liver cancer, especially men over the age of 40 should be vigilant. People with previous hepatitis B infection and family history of liver cancer should pay more attention to it.

In addition to physical examination, thick neck may also indicate fatty liver. A team led by Professor Zhu Huilian, the director of the Department of Nutrition at the School of Public Health at Sun Yat-sen University, found that the average neck circumference of patients with fatty liver was greater than those without fatty liver. In simple terms, the thick neck may indicate fatty liver.

If you have a thick neck and usually have a high risk of fatty liver, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

What needs to be reminded is that if you switch from simple fatty liver to steatohepatitis, it means that fatty liver has progressed to a certain extent. If you do not intervene in the treatment, you may develop liver fibrosis, which is as high as 25%.

If fatty liver has obvious liver damage, it is advisable to consult a doctor and follow the doctor's advice if necessary.

Do not know how far you are from fatty liver? You can still use these methods to escape from the surrounding of fatty liver.
