Breeding method

(1) Seed propagation: It can be planted from spring to early autumn (ie from February to August). Before sowing, in order to increase seedling emergence rate and early emergence, seeds can be soaked in water at 50°C for 5 minutes. When the temperature drops to 30°C, rinse with clean water several times, and then put them at a constant temperature of 25 to 30°C. Germination or soaking in fresh water for 24 hours after sowing. Live or seedling transplanting can be. Because the sage seed is small, it should be shallow sowing. Cover with thin soil after sowing, and sprinkle water regularly to keep the soil moist.

(2) Cutting propagation: From May to June, the tips of the branches are not very tender, 5 to 8 cm long, and they are cut at the lower part of the stem segments. Two to three leaves are removed from the base, and the spacing between the rows is 5 cm. In depths of 2.5 to 3 cm. Plug water and cover with plastic film to moisturize. After new roots are released from 20 days to 30 days, colonies are planted at a density of 25 to 30 centimeters in rows of 45 to 50 cm.

Cultivation points

When sage is sown, 3 to 5 seeds can be placed in each hole, and seedlings need to be sparse after germination for a week or when the plants reach 5 cm to 10 cm, with a spacing of about 20 to 30 cm. Because the growth of sage is quite luxuriant, after being grown, it needs to be combed again to increase the distance and keep growing.

When sage is maintained, it should be grown on well-drained and sunny soils, especially alkaline soils. It is worth noting that different species of sage are different in light intensity and need to be confirmed before cultivation.

After planting, the plants should be weeded and weeded. When drought occurs, they should be properly irrigated. In the rainy season, they must be drained immediately after the rain.
