Recently, the Shenzhen Market Supervision Bureau organized a special inspection on the adulteration of meat throughout the city. In this action, the relevant authorities conducted inspections on the Nanshan Agricultural Approval Market and the Dannong Road agricultural approval market in the Bailituk Community on Pinghu Street in Longgang District, sealed up a batch of suspicious meat products, and launched an investigation.

The relevant person in charge of the Shenzhen Market Supervision Bureau stated that on May 9th, the inspection agency affiliated to the bureau had collected three samples of meat such as mutton skewers, sheep skewers, and “New Zealand special selected 180 rolls” (meat rolls). Shenzhen Market Supervision Bureau stated that it has coordinated the relevant testing agencies to step up research on quantitative or semi-quantitative DNA testing methods for meat components, with a view to perfecting technical means as soon as possible and combating adulteration of meat more effectively.
