The reproduction of C. jasminoides is relatively easy, the growth of cuttings is slow, and the flowering is late. Therefore, it is mostly propagated by grafting. Grafting time is usually from April to August, but according to the author's experience, the end of June is better, can increase the amount of growth and flowering of stems and leaves that year.
Grafted rootstocks often use cactus or trigonous (someone called Hai Wang). Rootstocks should be over 20cm above the surface of the pot to facilitate later drape. If the rootstock is about 100 centimeters high, 4-5 layers can be tapped to form a multi-layered umbrella-like overhanging plant shape, which is more beautiful. Scion should not be too tender, 4-5 stem segments for a period, with a knife or blade after disinfection will scrundle the lower side of both sides of the scion a knife, the shape of a duck's beak, cut no more than half of a stem section. Then the rootstock microcline is cut longitudinally and the incision is slightly longer than the xylem of the scion and rootstock, and then the rootstock incision is immediately inserted into the xylem. After the two are joined, the joint is pinched by hand and clamped with a wooden clamp or fixed with a needle or a thorn to prevent the scion from slipping out.
After being grafted, place it in a cool and ventilated place. Do not water it for a week. The interface must not be exposed to water. After 10 days, the scion remains green and firm. This proves that it has survived and can be normally maintained.
