Law study found that chemical pollution is one of the causes of obesity

For a long time, people have always believed that obesity and diabetes are mainly caused by unhealthy eating habits. However, a study released by the French Environmental Health Network recently pointed out that chemical pollution is also one of the causes of obesity.

The French Environmental Health Network is a cooperative unit of the French Ministry of Health responsible for conducting research and submitting regular research reports. In its report “Assessing the Relationship between Chemical Environment and Obesity and Diabetes,” the Environmental Hygiene Network points out that some chemical contamination can cause endocrine disorders, leading to obesity and diabetes.

Gilles Narbonne, director of the Institute of Emeritus Studies at the French National Institute of Hygiene and Medicine, believes that adipose tissue is regulated by hormones and is therefore affected by endocrine disorders.

Environmental Health Network said that regulating endocrine is a means to prevent obesity and diabetes. The organization called on the relevant authorities to pay attention to the impact of chemical pollution and hoped that France could formulate relevant public health policies in the future.

According to the World Health Organization, by 2015, the number of obese patients in the world will reach 700 million. Diabetes is considered one of the major complications of obesity. Since the 80s of last century, the French public health department has emphasized the avoidance of obesity and diabetes through a healthy diet, but this has not effectively controlled the increase in the number of obese patients.
