The aim of this study was to investigate the value of ultrasound in the diagnosis and follow-up of fatigue fractures of the tibia.

The investigators retrospectively analyzed the X-ray, CT and ultrasonographic data of 200 patients with tibiofibular fatigue fractures admitted to our department from August 2009 to March 2014. 200 patients were confirmed to be fatigued by auxiliary examination or follow-up. The results showed that 191 patients with tibiofibular fractures were diagnosed by the first ultrasound examination, including 118 cases of second humeral shaft fracture and 73 cases of third humeral shaft fracture. The first detection rate was 95.50%. 78 cases of second humeral shaft fracture confirmed by X-ray for the first time. 49 cases of the third metatarsal fracture, the first detection rate was 63.50%; CT first diagnosis of the diagnosis of the second humeral shaft fracture 96 cases, the third humeral shaft fracture 61 cases, the first detection rate was 78.50%; three detection methods The difference in detection rate was statistically significant (P<0.05); the detection rate of ultrasonography was significantly higher than that of X-ray and CT (P<0.05), and the detection rate of CT was significantly higher than that of X-ray (P<0.05). During the follow-up, the cortical bone changed from "cabbage" or "mushroom-like" protuberance to the "circular" or "mound-like" protuberance at the 12th week.
